Thank you for helping the Lion Sick Children's Fund fulfill their mission "to provide financial support for sick children and their families whose means are surpassed by medical and treatment expenses."  You and other Dragon Boat Teams have raised $325,400 for Sick Children and $179,400 for 46 other charities.

Like you, we feel this is a great cause, and together we have assisted 642 families with  over $700,000 in financial help. 

To quote a client of the Fund, "Having your child diagnosed with a serious illness is like having the doctor strap a 75 pound backpack on you and telling you'll wear it for the rest of your life.  It's a difficult task, but one you gladly carry on behalf of your child.  With financial assistance, the Sick Children's Fund helped us carry that load." 

So many people are part of  the mission and help families carry their financial load—expenses for travel, equipment, prescriptions, and therapy. 

We are holding this year's Festival on Jones Lake May 25 and 26, 2012.   The High School Races will be held Friday, May 25, kicking off at 4:30 pm, and the Corporate/Community Races will be held Saturday starting at 8:30 am. 

Get that emotional high by helping two charities at once.  Recruit a team of 24 paddlers, raise $2,400 ($600 entry fee and a minimum of  $1,800 in pledges).  Contact Ron Paschal at the Lions Sick Children's Fund, 853-0498 or lionssickkids@rogers.com.  You can also register on this website.
